It’s not a whale blowing vapor; it’s mist pushed up through a hole in the iceberg by wave action.

Mt. Erebus, Ross Island, Antarctica.

Six images of Scott’s Hut which stands below the active volcano, Mt. Erebus. It was an honor and a magical experience to be there.

This work is from a 25 day cruise on the ice reenforced 130 passenger “Douglas Mawson” and from almost two weeks on the southern island of New Zealand.

We left from Dunedin, NZ and stopped on the sub-Antarctica islands, Enderby and Campbell.

From then we began the multi-day sail to the Ross Sea and McMurdo Sound.

Returning from Antarctica, we sailed to Macquarie Island.
